Job Title: Educational SEL Counselor + FYRP

Job Classification: Full Time, Exempt

Department: Program

Reports to: Program Manager 

Hours: 40 hours/week

Position Summary:

This position plays a key role in the intervention strategy of Denver Kids, Inc. The Educational SEL Counselor will work directly with young people in DPS. The Educational SEL Counselor will work with school partner staff, ensuring a team-based approach. The Educational SEL Counselor is a coach and advocate, working closely with the youth, mentor, family and school to ensure wrap-around support is provided. In addition, the Educational SEL Counselor may facilitate small groups and attend mentoring community meetings. This role will also have a small portion of their caseload dedicated to the First Year Retention Program (FYRP), and will spend some of their monthly time providing targeted support to counselors with Juniors and Seniors who can benefit from training and other tools to support those students.

Compensation/Benefits:

Salary is commensurate with skills and experience. Starting salary range is $46,000.00-$50,000.00 with competitive benefits and time off package.
